Si notas frecuentemente el sangrado de encías, significa que tu salud dental no es del todo buena. Normalmente suele ser a causa de la presencia de bacterias que pueden dañar el bienestar de tu boca. Por ello, es importante que si sufres el sangrado de encías sepas porque sale y cómo solucionarlo.
Como hemos mencionado, las encías suelen sangrar por la presencia de bacterias, que provienen muchas veces de la acumulación de restos de comida entre los dientes. Esto puede provocar dos enfermedades dentales:
Es un problema relativamente común y de carácter leve, que afecta a la inflamación de las encías. Es fácilmente identificable ya que suele verse con el enrojecimiento e hinchazón de las encías. Normalmente tiende al sangrado, sobre todo en el cepillado de los dientes.
Esta suele originarse debido a la acumulacion de placa en los dientes, pero también puede ser ocasionada debido al tabaco, la diabetes y a cambios hormonales
Generalmente se produce cuando no se trata la gingivitis. También es una infección bacteriana del tejido que rodea los dientes, incluido el hueso alveolar que soporta el diente. Esta se trata de una etapa avanzada y grave de los problemas de encías, por ello requiere de tratamiento profesional de un dentista, de lo contrario, si va a más hay riesgo de que se aflojen los dientes y que puedan caerse algunos de ellos.
Esta enfermedad dental es más grave que la gingivitis, y suele tener como principal síntoma el sangrado de las encías. Cuando la infección avanza pueden aparecer otros síntomas como dolor al masticar, retracción de encías, mal aliento, llagas y dientes móviles o sensibles.
La acumulación de sarro puede deberse también a una mala posición de los dientes, que impide por lo tanto retirar correctamente los restos de comida. También puede ocasionarse debido a la mala limpieza de los dientes con brackets o por no realizar una higiene bucal apropiada.
El sangrado de las encías puede deberse también a cambios hormonales, cepillarse los dientes con fuerza, trastornos hematológicos, factores genéticos, cardiopatías, estrés o incluso algunos medicamentos.
Si se trata de un caso leve, el sangrado puede detenerse usando un enjuague bucal adecuado, diseñado especialmente para las encías. Con que realices enjuagues de 30 segundos después del correcto cepillado de los dientes será suficiente.
Las bacterias podrán eliminarse con un buen cepillado y un enjuague apropiado, y así lograremos la desinflamación de las encías.
Por otro lado, si se trata de un caso más grave, donde hay un sangrado abundante, lo más adecuado será acudir a tu dentista para que te examine las encías y te mida la cantidad de sarro. Si no es demasiado grave con una buena limpieza profunda bastará para eliminar la placa bacteriana acumulada. Pero si tu dentista diagnostica una grave presencia de recesión de encías y pérdida de hueso, características que influyen negativamente en la movilidad del hueso, será necesario empezar un tratamiento periodontal.
